Family and friends, I don’t know what to say other than “this sucks”. Chris had a really tough night last night, which meant he didn’t sleep much and has continued to have a very tough day today. I’d give you the details but feel like most of them are TMI. In general, he’s incredibly nauseous, and his stomach is very distended (the nurse says likely from the swelling of his liver and intestines, and the other TMI stuff).
Thankfully, he’s been able to walk the halls some because he’s desperate for something to help him feel a bit better and I think one foot in front of another is at least something to concentrate on.
It’s hard to wrap my mind around him looking and feeling SO good right after surgery, and feeling like he’s been going downhill since yesterday. Dr. Liu said to expect this, but boy is it hard on him (and hard on me).
As my Pop used to say, tomorrow is a new day ❤️
I’m thankful for all your texts and comments on the blog and social posts. Chris hasn’t been able to read them yet but I know when he does they will mean so much to him.
Lastly, I’ll leave you with a pro tip: A fluffy Ranger jacket will double as a pillow in a pinch. #bearanger has never been so true.
Oh, man, this TOTALLY sucks! So sorry, you guys. Yay for tomorrow … and sending lots of love today.

Prayers going up for all of ya. This is just the “sucky” side of healing. Sounds like he’s pushing through “the suck” as best as he can and with you by his side he will be through it soon.

Sorry Jenny!! I feel your pain, I remember the aftermath of Teri’s heart surgery well. All I can say is make sure you take care of you too, eat, get some rest, etc. He will get better and better as the days go by, and this is just temporary. All my love to Chris and you.

Knowing the days will suck is very different from walking through them and watching Chris walk through them. Great big hugs dearheart.

I am so sorry for what you and Chris are going through. Hang in there and hope that each day gets better and better. Tell Chris that I am praying for him and always keep the positive attitude that he has always had ever since the day I met him. Please keep us posted.

Poor Chris. Poor you. Gerry and I hope this turns the corner as soon as possible. He likely going through the worst, as the Dr. said, but by tomorrow his body gets over the shock and starts to heal. xoxoxo
