Hello, friends & family!

Quick update to let you know Chris is doing well today, exactly 1-week post-surgery. He tolerated the clear liquids so well this morning and afternoon that he was cleared for something soft for dinner. I know he’s anxious about it; I am, too.

He’s smiling a bit, super coherent (a big change from over the weekend), and he even got his last IV out this afternoon. Now he is hose/cord/tube free and can just get up to use his bathroom or walk the halls without pulling something behind him! 🤩

Chris slept well last night and said he only woke up when the nurse came in to check his vitals. Also, our favorite nurse Emily has been with him all day today. I’m glad she’s gotten to see Chris in much better form.

We are both still trying to process all that he (and we, TBH) went through late last week into early this week. I have a feeling it’s going to take a few therapy sessions.

Finally, Dr. Liu said as long as Chris keeps making progress, he’ll likely be able to go home on Friday.
